One bed, a thousand bodies

A hotel chooses a mattress once, for an average guest, and the average guest does not exist. Tonight it is under a broad-shouldered side sleeper. Tomorrow it is under someone half the weight who sleeps on their back, and the night after that a couple who would never have agreed on a mattress at home and are now sharing one they did not choose. The mattress holds one shape through all of it, and the review mentions the bed either way.

Firm is the usual compromise, because firm complains less loudly than soft. It still complains.

What the AI Pro XII does about it

What to confirm before ordering

Two things, plainly. The published warranty is written for home use: ten years on the mattress structure and five on the electronics, and it excludes commercially used products. Terms for hotels and serviced apartments are agreed separately and put in writing before an order, not after. And the AI Pro XII is built to order, six to eight weeks, so a rollout is planned by floor rather than bought off a shelf.
